INTRODUCTION TO
METEORITES

Section 1
A. How my interest started on collecting meteorites since 1972.
B. Theory from the big bang of how we became from the beginning of time
& its elements from comets, asteroids to meteorites.
C. Why is it so important to know their locations.
D. The different types of meteorites: nickel iron (5%), stony iron (87%)
and stony (8%)
E. Magnets and metal detectors.
Section 2: Guidelines & Courtesies to follow in the field:
1. We should all respect the environment by cleaning up our trash and
fill in our holes when done.
2. Make sure you read all signs before entering any areas.
3. Always get permission entering private property.
4. If stopped by U.S. Forest Ranger:
Always be polite; Say that you are prospecting; ask
him what law you are breaking, if any.
Ask for: Ranger's name, badge#, agency & district
representative. Make note of date, time & location.
